

God’s little shepherd, Mary Anita “Sissy” Arens, born April 4, 1963, went to be with the Lord May 16, 2015. She faced life with great courage, conquering the most difficult challenges. Serving the Lord as a kind, gentle humanitarian, she eagerly shared with those less fortunate. Anita enjoyed a delightful sense of humor, working hard every day. Her vocation was also her passion: caring for animals, especially horses and cats.
Anita leaves behind her companion, Clarence “Duke” Patterson, Lake Worth, FL; mother Mary Jo Arens, Houston, TX; brothers Mike (Marjorie) Arens, Wichita, KS; Joe (Roberta) Arens, Rockledge, FL; and Bill (Annamarie) Arens, Dothan, AL; and sister Diane (Tony) Glick, Houston. Nieces and nephews include Katie (Chad) Haggerty, Bob Arens, Brenda (Jerry) Gutierrez and Alaina and Liam, Alycia Arens and Johnny, Zachary Hornbrook, Emily (Eric) Deacon, and Carolyn Arens. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Anita is preceded in death by her father, James Leroy Arens, Bartlesville, OK.
