Michol Levitt, 80, passed away on August 29, 2026. Born on January 23, 1946, in Hong Kong to Portuguese parents, she carried with her a steady grace shaped by her early years and the deep roots of family and faith that guided her throughout her life. She later moved to Toronto in 1969, where she built a life defined by devotion to those she loved.
Michol attended Markknoll in Hong Kong for her schooling, and her resilience and quiet strength remained evident through every season that followed. Before marriage and children, she worked at McGraw Hill, bringing the same conscientious care to her work that she would later pour into her home and family.
In 1978, Michol married Stanford Mark Levitt (Death 2008). Together they welcomed two children: Scott Aaron Levitt (1982) and Michelle Alyssa Levitt (1985). Above all, Michol was a devoted mother who raised her children selflessly, always placing their needs before her own and creating a childhood marked by stability, warmth, and steadfast love. In 1993, she moved from Toronto to Boynton Beach, Florida, where she continued to build a life centered on family, connection, and care for others.
Those who knew Michol knew a beloved and cherished presence—kind-hearted, compassionate, and genuinely social. She loved company, delighted in trying new places to eat, and had a generous spirit that expressed itself in thoughtful gestures, especially in the way she chose gifts with others in mind. She also found joy in shopping, taking family vacations, and loving her dogs, simple pleasures that reflected how deeply she valued togetherness and the comfort of home.
A faithful and devoted Catholic, Michol attended service at Sacred Heart, St Matthews, and, in her latter years, on TV. Her faith was not merely a routine but a steady source of strength—an enduring foundation that carried her through life’s joys and losses with dignity and hope.
Michol’s legacy continues through her family, including her grandchild, Savanna Marie Levitt (2022), daughter of Scott Levitt and Kayla Brown, and her son-in-law, Eric Justice (2025), husband of Michelle Levitt. Though her absence is profound, her love remains present in the lives she shaped and the example she set through her generosity, devotion, and enduring care for others.
“I will never forget the sacrifices you and Dad made to ensure my sister and I had the best childhood and I hope to come close to those sacrifices with my daughter." - Scott Levitt
Although our family is incomplete currently, Savanna has gained a new guardian angel to watch over her and watch her grow up. Reuniting with Dad after 18 years is a small consolation for the tremendous loss you are.
The family would like to thank the following for their support of Michol in her later years: Angie and Manny Corsino, Pas Morales, Mavis Swan, Audrey Zotto, Shirley and Tom Justice, and countless others. Their kindness and presence were deeply meaningful and will be remembered with sincere gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, and because of Michol's love of animals, please donate to your local humane society.
A Memorial Mass honoring her life will take place on Thursday, September 17th at 10:00M at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6090 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33463.
