Ralph “Murray” Powell was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. Murray passed away suddenly on January 03,2022at age 82. Murray was preceded in death by his loving wife Penny. He was a proud father of two sons: Mike and Kevin. His wisdom and love of the outdoors will be missed.
Murray was a proud member of the West Palm Beach Fire Department #191 where he retired in 1987. He started his career at the fire department as a mechanic and worked his way through the ranks where he retired as a Captain. Murray loved his time at the department and would share his stories with anyone who would listen. He also had a love of the outdoors. He was an active member of the Florida Sportsman Conservation Association where he acted as treasurer for several years. Murray also loved to give kids rides on his airboat to show them the fun of airboating and the wildlife the Everglades holds.
Services to be held at Dorsey E. Earl Smith Funeral home and Lake Worth Memory Gardens, located at 3041 Kirk Rd., Lake Worth Fl 33461. Viewing will be from 9-11, service and burial after. Small reception to follow the service.
