It doesn’t seem that you are gone that long Lando. Some of your antics are still fresh in my memory. You truly lived life. 
You are weaved deeply into my story of growth and independence, of laughter too.
No one knew that 2 years later my buddy your brother Enrique would follow.

I knew Rose growing up in Colón. Always kept a smile on his face, always jolly and always had a good joke to give. Very humble. We were both stationed in Fort Totten, Bayside Queens,  NY. Home of the Ceremonial Platoon. With Sgt. Rose there was never a dull moment. Sleep and take your rest my friend. We love you yes! But Jesus loves you best; Good night, good night, good night.

Primo you are greatly missed. You were the life of the party. 
Your smile lit up the room you entered, your dance moves evoked fun, humor and an unforgettable memory.
You rolled with the punches life gave you, never loosing your smile.
You are gone so soon. Only God knows why, One thing is sure. Your passing reminds us of the brevity of life, the importance to live today to the fullest and dance in the rain if you get caught in it rather than complain.

Orlando Rose for me was the father I didn't have, he was an exemplary godfather for me, always worrying about my studies, my nutrition among other things. For me it has been very painful his loss, not getting to see him in his last moment, but God knows my heart and knows "How much I loved him, how much I appreciated him" for me he was an example to advance in my studies, he was my motivation to move forward. Not only with me, but any young person who was a student, he helped them to buy their school supplies and helped their parents for food. He was very much loved by the young people, children of his congregation and community, in his parking lot. He was a generous man with the indigent and I admired his kindness, because he was a man of God. "I will miss you forever”, May God rest your soul. 

Orlando "Lando" was very special to me. My earliest memory of him was in 1971 or '72 while in the army, he came back to visit us in Panama. I had an afro and he gave me his pick. My very first pick at 12 years old. I will never forget that. Later when I came to live in Brooklyn he took me under his wing and treated me like a son. I became the big brother to Vanessa, Giovanna and Orlandito.  Lando, may you rest in peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We love you.

My Deepest Condolences To The Rose Family, “Big Ship” As I Use To Call Rose Will Be Dearly Missed. We Won’t Be Seeing Those Graceful Dancing Steps Anymore But I Know Big Ship Will Be Dancing In Heaven! Rest In Power!!
