Richard "Rick" V. Adkins

Richard “Rick” V. Adkins, 63 of Greenacres passed away on Saturday February 24. He was the beloved husband of Susan A. (Albro) Adkins. They were married in October 2001 in Cocoa Beach, FL. Born on October 4, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio he was the son of the late Walter R. and Dorothy E. (Martin) Adkins. He moved to Florida in 1980 from Ohio. Rick was a veteran of US Navy where he was a submariner and was enlisted from 1972-1976. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 994 in Greenacres, where he retired as a junior governor. He also belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lake Worth. Rick retired in 2017 from Mako Hose and Rubber in West Palm Beach where he was a purchaser for the past 27 years. He was a pet lover and enjoyed traveling, tinkering with science projects, but most of all spending time with his wife at the bowling alley. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Richard V. Adkins II; stepdaughter Noelle K. Gellermann (Eric); grandson Jase A. Gellermann; brothers and sisters, Merrilee Zawadzki, Karen Turner, Thomas Adkins (Sheila), James Adkins, John Adkins (Beverly), Beth Myers (Gary), and David Adkins (Vicki); sister in law Debbie Overstreet (Bobby); and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to Celebration of Life Services on Sunday March 4 from 1 to 4pm at the Moose Lodge 994, 4844 Bowman Street, Greenacres, FL. Cremation Services have been entrusted to Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth.
