A lifelong Florida resident and avid outdoorsman, Ricky was born in Pensacola and met his wife Helen (“Mickey”) while they both attended Palm Beach High School in West Palm Beach. Immediately after high school, during the Vietnam war, Ricky joined the Air Force where he received an advanced education in computer electronics.
Upon honorable discharge, Ricky found employment in the growing technology sector where he continued to thrive until retirement. Upon the passing of his wife Mickey, Ricky moved to High Springs in 2018 to be closer to his son and daughter-in-law. His remaining years were highly active while surrounded by family and friends.
Ricky Broxson was an endlessly loving honest, loyal, upbeat, and funny man. He would give you the shirt off his back and was an amazing father to many beyond his own family. The world is a darker place without him.
A Funeral Service in memory of Ricky will be held on his birthday, Saturday May 31st at 10 a.m. at the Dorsey E. Earl Smith Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. Immediately after the funeral Ricky will be interred next to Mickey at Lake Worth Memory Gardens, followed by a reception with boxed lunches at the funeral home.
