

Robert (Bob) Gallagher passed away at the age of 85 years. Bob was a beloved father and grandfather who was a resident of Greenacres, FL since 1986, he is pre-deceased by his parents John and Lenore Gallagher, wife of 44 years, Josephine Fant Gallagher, brother Capt. John Gallagher and sister, Helen Gallagher. Also by his second wife, Joan Brown Gallagher. Survivors include brother, Joseph (Jay) Gallagher of Lansford, PA, daughter Donna (Reutter) East Meadow, NY, son James Gallagher, Huntington, NY, sons Paul Gallagher and Michael Gallagher, Ft. Pierce, FL, and 10 grandchildren. Robert was born in Lansford, PA in 1930 and graduated from St. Ann High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and held the rank of Staff Sergeant until honorably discharged in 1955. He attended Teterboro School of Aeronautics obtaining his FAA Certification as an Aircraft and Powerplant Mechanic. Working in the corporate aviation industry he was employed by IBM Corp, U.S. Steel Corp. and International Paper Co. as an aircraft maintenance manager. Robert enjoyed golfing, card playing and telling jokes. He served on his condominium Board of Directors for many years and was in demand as a favorite Bingo caller at his club house. A faithful daily communicant at the St. Matthew Church and a member of the parish since its inception. A visitation will be held at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, April 3rd from 2-4PM. A funeral service will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Monday, April 4th at 10 AM followed by an interment at Lake Worth Memory Gardens.
