She was born July 16, 1926 in La Farge Wisconsin to Eugene Campton and Iva (Lawrence) Campton. She had two brothers Gervis and Kenneth and one sister Dessie (Campton) Robinson.
Ruby attended La Farge High School and was Miss La Farge High School in 1942. She moved to Beloit Wisconsin in 1942 to work for Fairbanks & Morris during WWII. She and Don were married February 10, 1947 in Janesville Wisconsin, their beautiful union of 72 years together. They raised 3 wonderful children Connie, Jeff and Brad.
Ruby relocated to Lake Worth Florida in 1970. She was a devoted and loving wife to Donald, a homemaker, mother, grandma and great grandma. Those who knew her best would say she was an impeccable homemaker and matriarch of her family. She had a quick wit and a spunky loving personality and everyone that knew her loved her. She enjoyed writing poetry and taking care of her family.
Mrs. Ruby Milam is survived by her loving husband Donald W. Milam, son Bradley David Milam of Lake Worth. Granddaughter Tammy L. Hammett of North Augusta S.C. (John), Grandson Troy William Swenson of Stuart Florida, great grandchildren Austin R. Effler (Brittany) of Jacksonville, Fla, Blaire L. Effler and Lauren A. Effler of North Augusta S.C. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey D. Milam, daughter Constance S. Branson, great grandson Andrew Jeffrey Swenson, sister Dessie Robinson, and brothers Gervis Campton and Kenneth Campton.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday November 8 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday November 9 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Lake Worth Memory Gardens.
