Shirley Lou Flynn (nee Witmer), 87, of West Palm Beach passed into the light of Christ on April 6, 2022. She was in the comfort of her home and surrounded by family and friends. Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Robert, her parents, and six siblings. Shirley is survived by her children Debbie Kitchens (Jack), Diana Flynn, Karen Mills, Carol Husted, Patrick Flynn (Vicky), and Judy Recca (Vincent). Shirley was blessed with nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Born in Zion, PA, Shirley's family moved to Lake Worth when she was a child. Once married, she and her husband made a life in West Palm Beach. Shirley was a teacher in Palm Beach County for 34 years, primarily at Highland Elementary School. Shirley was a life-long Methodist, attending several local churches over her years, most recently in attendance at United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches (UMCPB). A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on June 18, at 11 AM with a reception to follow. The service will be held at UMCPB, 900 Brandywine Rd., West Palm Beach, FL 33409. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UMCPB.
