Thomas David Troy Sr., 77, passed away on August 3, 2026. Born on July 6, 1949, he lived with steady purpose and quiet strength, offering his time and care to others in ways that were sincere, unassuming, and deeply felt.
Raised in the Bronx, NY, and Whaley Lake, NY, Thomas carried forward the values of those early years—showing, throughout his life, the kind of devotion that is measured in consistency, and the kind of gentleness that is felt most in everyday moments.
Thomas dedicated 34 years of hard work to the New York Department of Transportation. His long career reflected a steadfast sense of responsibility and a generous willingness to do what needed to be done, day after day, with pride in the work and respect for the people around him.
He found enjoyment in classic cars, coin collecting, and mystery TV shows—interests that suited his patient attention to detail and his appreciation for things built to last.
Thomas is survived by his sister Hazel; his cousin Millie; his sons DJ and Thomas; and his grandsons Thomas and Drew.
In his final year, Thomas was very thankful for Trustbridge Hospice and Sean Ryals for the care they gave him. Their support was received with gratitude and will be remembered by those who loved him.
