Tim was born on November 8, 1941, in Norwood, Massachusetts, to Herbert and Eugenia Badger. He proudly served four years in the United States Navy, stationed in Long Beach and on Guam, before his honorable discharge in 1964. After his service, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University. He later earned his Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Tim devoted more than 30 years of his career to Tampa Electric Company (TECO), followed by 10 years with Lee County Electric Cooperative (LCEC) in Ft Myers. He was also a dedicated member of Holyrood Lodge in Tampa, serving as Master in 1978.
On June 3, 1966, Tim married his sweetheart, Carla (Rogers), in Poplarville, Mississippi. The couple moved to Tampa following his graduation, where they raised two children, Paige and Jeremy, in Temple Terrace.
They were longtime members of First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace, where Tim served as a deacon and beloved Sunday school teacher. In later years, they joined Idlewild Baptist Church, where Tim played trumpet in the orchestra and loved teaching children to fish through the Fishing, Faith and Fun program.
In his retirement, Tim discovered a passion for golf and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren the game. He was also an accomplished cook—known for his delicious Thanksgiving turkey and the best biscuits and gravy this side of the Mississippi.
Tim is survived by his supportive wife, Carla; his children, Paige (Eric) Romano and Jeremy Badger; and his four cherished grandchildren: Emma, Braden, Cameron, and Delaney. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four siblings—Mary, Andrew, Lois, and Steve.
