Son attended primary school at “Les Frères de l’Instruction Chrétienne” & secondary school at Lycée Tertulien Guilbaud”; both schools in Port-de-Paix, Haiti. Son was a very hard worker. He began working in Family Transportation businesses. First, with his brother Bruno (deceased), then; with his other brother Roland, who is like a father to him. During the class of Rheto, he quit school to take care of his single mother and to put his younger brother Fritz, through school.
In April 1961, he married the love of his life, Marguerite Louissaint, in Port-de-Paix. Son migrated to the United States in 1978, to join his wife in Brooklyn, New York. They then relocated to Spring Valley, New York, to be closer to his loving brother Cocherel. He commuted daily, to work in Mahwah, New Jersey; to support his family. In 1987, the family moved to Boynton Beach, FL. He retired with The City of Boynton Beach. Retirement didn’t stop him. He then began to work full time with Bethesda Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed working. An unexpected illness forced him into his second retirement. He kept himself occupied until he was no longer physically able to. Although his body was frail, his mind was sharp. He spent his weekends shopping for clothes, working on his cars and doing carpentry work. He built benches, dog houses and step stools; a craft that he learned from his brother Roland, a carpenter. He loved clothes, hence his dress code (the Black Italian). He enjoyed driving his Cadillacs. His wish was to be buried in his Cadillac with all of his clothes; to which his wife said to him: “Son, ou genlè pa byen nan tèt. Kiyès ki pral rann ou sèvis sa-a”?
Son loved being around his grandchildren and had a special bond with each of them; near or far. He gave them all unique nick names. He nicknamed a few grandsons after Wrestlers, since he loved Wrestling. He enjoyed watching soccer and he also played it as a youth. One of his favorite TV shows were Sanford and Son. If his sports or TV show wasn’t on, you’ll find his TV on TeleMundo. He swore, he spoke Spanish. He loved food. The man could eat. He loved music and was a great dancer. On the weekends, he would put on music and dance.
He’s predeceased by his son, Aristide “Dieuseul”. He’s survived by his wife of 57 years, Marguerite. His 7 children: Immacula, Thedly, Junie, Jean-Fresner, Régine, Widler and Peter. His 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. His 4 siblings: Roland, Gabbie, Rosena and Fritz. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends. We acknowledge his other children, Willy Noel (deceased), Kettelie Coicou-Dede & Pastor Wendell Charles whom he embraced. Many families are affected by his death.
