Bro. Bill as I recall, was the first man to welcome me in being apart of the Men’s ministry when I first started at First UB. As such, I am forever grateful for the opportunity I had in knowing and working with him in this ministry. As I got to know Bro. Bill, who became a person friend, he was always dressed to the “T” whatever the occasion maybe. His jovial persona was one worth being around, as there was never a dull moment while being in his presence. His love and admiration for his wife Sis. Sharon was incomparable, as he used every opportunity to remind her how much he adored her. These are the memories that I will always hold dear to my heart as you now take your heavenly rest in the arms of the angels.
 Sis. Sharon, you are ever in my thoughts and as a powerful woman of God, I need not to remind you that, your God promises he will never leave or forsake you. My deepest condolences and prayers are extended to you and the family.

Hi Sharon, please accept condolences from Jackie and me. You are in our prayers! No words can comfort you but God can! He promised never to leave us but to always be with us.

As I reflect on the life of Deacon Nottage,  I am reminded of how I  felt a warm sense of welcome and genuine care when I’m in his presence. He never greets me without asking “how is Sis Jackie doing, give her my love.” He loved and showed respect to others. I would walk away from a conversation with Deacon Nottage knowing his genuine love and care for his wife, Sharon. 

At his core, he loved God and the church. Deacon Nottage had a love for the men of the church. In our many conversations, his desire to see more men in the ministry was paramount.

He served God well!

Bro. Bill will always be remembered by my daughter Sherene and myself. His birthday was always a day before mine so we would say happy birthday to you and same to you tomorrow. Now I can only say rest in the arms of God. His smile and dress code was always on par. The way he acknowledged  his love and respect for his  wife was something to be admired. It was always a pleasure working with him at First UB church.

He was a  man of faith, respect , courage, discipline, punctuality and kindness. He was a man of prayer and a diligent lover of God’s Word. In memory of my friend Bill,whom I met in 1985 as a nurse registered for an agency he managed.  We established a long term working relationship as well as friendship, every agency he managed I worked for up until his final agency Gotham in New York.  
Bill was a intellectual man who loved to read and mentor in his church.  As a friend it was an honor to be asked to be his best man at his and Sharon wedding. Bill was my travel and riding partner,we would take long rides and talk about life and our favorite topic, our families.
Master Bill your physical presence will be missed, but a life time of memories will sustain me until we meet again. 
REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND, and my deepest condolences to Sharon and the family.

Sharon, you're my cousin and I love you, so it was easy to love Brother Bill, as I would call him. I remembered his warmth towards me the first time meeting him and the warmth continued throughout. On behalf of the Larmonds our deepest condolences. He will be missed! 

Farewell to my Brother Deacon Nottage. You will sincerely be missed. Dapper William, always the elegantly attired, faithfully served as the president of our church Men’s Ministry where he gained the admiration and respect of the  brotherhood. William and I had some shared interests. One being the love of a good western movie.  I remember on occasions I would ask him what are your plans this afternoon and he’d reply “getting Into My best position and watching a good western”
So we celebrate your life, my Brother, “yippee ki yay” As you ride off into the sunset ahead of us. Looking forward to seeing you later pardner.

William Nottage has had the distinct ability to give definition and clarity to the circumstances of life. We are better for knowing, serving, and working with him. He has had a positive, practical, and pragmatic effect on our lives. 
As we come together to celebrate his life and say our goodbyes, let us pause to thank God for how William Nottage has defined leadership. As a vocational leader and dispatcher, he managed the employment of healthcare workers under his purview; as the president of the Men's Department at First Church, he led the men of the church to pursue his department's goals, thus advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a father, he was the prophet, priest, and king at home! Here was an experienced man to whom you can send young men to be trained in the virtues of hard work, hospitality, and humanity. 
Deacon Nottage defined service. As a military man, he served his nation patriotically. As a deacon, he served his God faithfully; and as a husband and father, he loved his family unconditionally. 
Deacon William defined sartorial elegance. He was the epitome of the well-dressed man! Whether he was going to a formal, semi-formal, or casual occasion, Deacon Nottage would command our attention through what he wore. Although he was short in stature, he was tall in style and fashion. 
Deacon William Nottage was a gift to us! His presence, participation, and priceless wisdom will be missed. His soul is resting in peace! The Rev. Dr. Linton Thomas family stands with all the saints of God to express their sincere condolences to the Nottage family at this time of loss. 


In memory and reflection of Bro. Bill, I can truly say I admired him for the love and loyalty he had for his family and the church.  I  remember and  respected him for the way he would publicly speak of his love and adoration for his wife Sharon!!
May the peace of God cover you Sis. Sharon, and the cherished memories keep you during this difficult time.

One of my fondest memories of Bro Bill, is whenever he was given the opportunity to address the church, he would always seize the moment to acknowledge his wife with words of endearment. Sis Sharon would sit there blushing with a smile on her face. Bro Bill made it known to all how much he loved his wife.

Bill was a great man of man.  Who would encourage me ,whenever I would speak to him. 
 It was a joy to speak to him on our birthday which I look forward to  every year, just to say happy birthday and In turn  he would say, happy birthday to me and we would laugh.
  I am truly going to miss  my yearly call.  I know that you are resting in the arms of your father.  Rest In Peace.  My birthday friend.
