I believe I only met Diane once, although I worked for and have known Gary for years. Having overserved myself adult beverages, Gary thought it best to take me to his house to rest before I drove home. Diane was so nice to me and nonjudgemental. She fixed me dinner and was as nice as a person could be under the circumstances. I always remembered her kindness. May she rest in peace and God keep Gary and the rest of their family in his care.      

Grandma D, as I knew her, was everyone's dream grandmother. She always had a smile and a home cooked meal ready when I came to visit, even on the rare occasions when I dropped in unannounced. As a child, she taught me how to cook and how to garden. I fondly remember looking up to the kitchen window, seeking her approval as I attempted to properly water her flowers. She was a lovely woman and I am confident that she is still smiling and watching us from afar, now.

Diane was a very special person. She had a big heart and always positive and happy. She has a beautiful family and will be truly missed.

Diane  always had such beautiful flowers.  Read this  in the paper the other day "Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food, and medicine to the soul" -Luther Burbank.   This seemed like it was meant as a remembrance of her and to her family.  A good neighbor too.   Joleen Silva

I have many good memories of Diane as we carpooled to the little Christian School in Lakeport for many years with our children. Diane was always very generous, and would often stop at McDonalds and buy ice cream cones for all of the kids in the car. When my daughter was born, Diane came to visit and sat there holding her for a couple of hours while we talked. She loved babies and was a wonderful lady. I'm so thankful I know I will see her again in heaven one day. Gary, Vince,  and Sara, I'm so sorry for your loss.

There are no words to express how sad I was to hear of Diane's passing...No more pain or suffering now safe in the Arms of Jesus... I loved you for the beautiful person you were inside and out... I miss you soooo much... Condolences to Gary Vince Sara and family Gene Aice Jan Patti ..

My family and I will never forget the fun times we had visiting Aunt Emma and being with Gary and Diane.  I remember one time, Rosalie was pregnant and all of us decided to take a trip to Mendocino by the coast.  In her condition, she did not want to be far from a hospital, but Diane convinced her to come with us and along the way told stories that made us laugh.  It was her laughter and insight on many things that made you at ease being around her!  When my wife passed in 2006, I called her and she made me feel a lot better about my loss.  no matter what life send your way, Diane had a way to comfort you with her smile and her caring attitude. I will always remember her in my heart and know that she is with God and probably making Him laugh too!  God bless her and Gary, Vince, Sara, her parents and the grand children....

We know how important Diane is to Gary, Sara, Vince and all the members of her family.  We are very sorry for your loss.  Sending our heartfelt thoughts and prayers.

I'm heartbroken to hear of Diane's passing.  Diane and I were best friends in school. We both lived in Finley and were together all the time, usually at Diane's, playing on the trampoline. Diane was the sweetest, most beautiful person I've ever known and though I haven't been able to see her for many years, we were able to talk on the phone and share many wonderful memories and laughter. 

My heart goes out to her wonderful parents, Gene & Alice, who I remember so well.  To Diane's sisters, Jan & Patti, who I also remember well, and to Gary and the children, Vince & Sara Mae.     

Diane, Thank you for your friendship. I miss you terribly and will never forget you, your laugh, your smile and what a lovely person you were. I'll always love you, dear friend.

All of us in Minnesota will really miss Diane. it was so much fun getting caught up whenever we talked on the phone. I can hardly believe that she is in heaven with so many of our folks. it must have been some family reunion! she was so full of unconditional love and always full of smiles and hugs. Our family recently purchased the home next door to Diane and Gary Mussat. We share a drive way, and live in a house that 3 generations of Diane and Gary's family helped turn into a home. For this reason alone we feel connected to Diane, because we love our home. Diane helped create a nurturing place we now raise our children. Due to Diane's fragile health, we never met face to face, as she had been quite ill since we moved in; however, we spoke on the phone a few times, and she always waved to us when she drove by. Diane had the most genuine, friendly, welcoming smile that made us feel immediately at ease. We extend our most sincere condolences to the Mussat family, Diane's parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren. Diane was a beautiful soul, and we feel fortunate to have been acquainted to her, and her family for the short time we were given. We are always here as friends and neighbors, and our door is always open.

It's been a long time since we've visited, in fact, back when Aunt Emmy was alive.  When we did "back in the ole days" we typically had dinner at Gary's and Diane's house.  I do remember those days well: great food, games, and especially the laughs, Diane's laugh was always present along with her smile!  Diane was welcoming and had a fun story or two to share.  Thank you for the great memories and God Bless.

What I remember the most is how welcome you always made me feel and how infectious your laughter was.We sure loved those Hallmark Christmas movies and the books written by Diana Gabaldon.and we talked about them often. I shared your love of nature and having our birthdays only one week apart made it easy for Gary to surprise us both with that fantastic, catered special birthday dinner two years ago. You really got a kick out of playing Scattergories when I would bring the game with me on my visits. I enjoyed preparing holiday meals with you and of course eating them too. Health wise, each day was a challenge for you, but you got through them without complaint. Being well-read, you could talk about any subject making our conversations so interesting. I treasure the time we spent together especially the last few years. I will miss you, Diane.
