Don,we had good times together, both at CHP and the Gleaners. I miss stopping by on Sundays checking if you need some bread or a nice chocolate cake.  I will miss you at the parties we use to go to but most of all, as a true friend, I miss you...Edw McDonald

Don was a truly great man.  His volunteer spirit will be greatly missed in the Lake County community.  His selfless giving to organizations such as the California Highway Patrol Senior Volunteer Program and Clear Lake Gleeners speaks volumes of his giving character.   Even though he was a volunteer, he never hesitated one moment when tasked with an assignment.  I knew him both professionally and personally, and really enjoyed spending time at his walnut ranch just talking farming and whatever. You are a great man Don and I will miss you.  See ya' on the other side my good friend.....

Don and I were best friends since 1948 in high school. We travelled many a mile and pursued many similar paths in life,ie;airplane pilot and law enforcement. I worked with Don at Ampex for 3 1/2 years in manufacturing. His mother Margot was like a mother to me. I enjoyed my phone visits with him regularly over all these years. Don, I will miss you old friend.I feel I have lost a brother. John(Ed)Hacker
