

Edna was born November 2, 1927 in Omaha, Nebraska to parents Irvin W. and Catherine M. (Duncan) Roberts. She attended country schools in the Bayard area, and graduated from Bayard High School with the Class of 1946. She worked for a theatre, the drug store, and a grocery store in Bayard as a young woman. She was united in marriage to Tom Maurice Rush on August 9, 1952 at the Methodist Church in Bayard. The couple lived in Torrington, WY, Bridgeport, Crawford, and came back to Bridgeport for Tom’s career with the railroad. Edna made their house a home for Tom and their girls JoAnn and Judy.
Edna lived life to the fullest, and loved to stay active. She delivered Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church as a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Youth Group Leader, Presbyterian Women, and Friendship Circle member. Her volunteer activities also extended to many youth groups. Edna was a Girl Scout Leader, volunteered with Head Start and at the Bridgeport Elementary School. She was a huge supporter of Bridgeport School activities, both the fine arts and athletic programs. Edna received the Bridgeport School Booster Club Supporter of the Year for 2002-2003, the Caregiver Award in 1998 presented by Dr. George and Emery Post and the Bridgeport Fire Department, and the Camp Clarke Community Service Award for 2005.
Edna is survived by her daughters JoAnn (Ray) Callan of Bridgeport and Judy R. Rush of Ft. Worth, TX; three grandchildren Heather (Greg) Segelke of Sidney and children Dylan Segelke and Celeste Riddle, Craig (Abby) Callan of Loveland, CO and their son Heath Callan, and Nicole Callan of Ft. Collins, CO; and many extended family members.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, and numerous extended family members.
