Abel had a talent for fixing trucks and collecting parts, something he carried well into his life. He met Eloyda Hurtado and they married. They were married for 60 years. Together, Abel and Eloyda raised their three children in North Denver. Abel was a truck driver for many years in that area.
When not working on a truck, collecting a part for a truck, or driving a truck you could find Abel in his favorite place: his chair. He enjoyed watching old Westerns with John Wayne, or youtubing "how to fix..." or watching his favorite cartoons while eating homemade oatmeal raisin cookies. He also enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash and classic Jazz.
You may find Abel in another of his favorite places, up the hill at Central City and Blackhawk. He always stopped at his favorite ice cream place on the way.
Abel was humorous, but quiet. He was simple, wearing the same perfectly pressed blue jeans, white tank top, and pressed blue button up shirt. He seemed very tough, but was actually pretty soft. His house rules for his kids were a little more lienient for his grandkids. In fact, grandkids did not have to come to the breakfast table completely dressed, they only had to wear their pajama's with shoes, whereas his children had to come fully dressed with shoes.
Abel will be deeply missed by his wife, Eloyda; children, Abel (Valerie), William (Tracy), Rosanna (Todd), Arlene and Brenda; grandchildren, Raymond (Brandi), Chantelle, Ciara (Joey), Nick, Amanda (Angela); and Alexandra; great grandchildren, Raymond, Jr., Amaya, Izaiah, Izabella, Zyrah, Memphis, Noah and Alani; and sister, Bernice. He is preceded in death by his parents, and all of his other siblings.
