Albert V. Powers

Al was born January 13, 1932 to Charles and Doris (Townsend) Powers on his grandparents (Albert & Rose Townsend) dairy farm near Cayuga, NY. After rural schools he moved to Auburn, NY, graduating in 1949 at East High. He served in the US Navy on the USS bowers, APD 40, (1949-1953) out of Norfolk, VA as an electronics technician. After various jobs, mostly with Beneficial Finance; he relocated in 1973 with his family of 5 children to Greeley, CO and later to Lakewood, CO retiring in 1994 from US Fish & Wildlife. Al married Patricia Lynch in 1992.

He pursued family genealogy, metaphysics, numerology, crystal and rock collections. Al traveled to Aruba, Alaska, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, London, Brittany, Mexico and many US states and sites.

Surviving are beloved wife, Patricia Lynch Powers, his 5 children: Michael of Mountain Grove, MO; Victoria "Vicky" (Bill) Flint of Windsor, CO; Julia of New Orleans, LA; Amelia "Amy" (Mark) Schild of Eaton, CO; Eric Albert of Smithtown, L.I., NY and Pat's sons: Michael Lynch of Lake Balboa, CA; Steven (Rhonda) Lynch of Woodinville, WA; 6 grandchildren: Matthew Day, Andrew Schultz, John (Haley) Powers, Michelle (Charlie) Stone, Tyler Lynch and Kenna Lynch; 3 great grandchildren: Camille Schultze, Silas Schultze, Cole Powers; and one brother: Glen Powers.

A visitation for Al will start at 9:30am on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9405 West Florida Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80232; the rosary will be recited at 10:00am and the funeral mass will begin at 11:00am, a reception will follow. Al will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236 at 2:00pm with military honors.
