Amy was the eldest of two children born to Robert and Barbara Couchman, and she shared a lifelong bond with her sister, Alison Spindor. From an early age, Amy demonstrated a thoughtful and caring spirit that would come to shape both her personal life and professional calling.
She graduated from Lewis-Palmer High School in 1990 and went on to attend Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, where she earned a degree in Psychology and Religion. Driven by a desire to help others, Amy continued her education at the University of Colorado Denver, earning her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education in December 2004. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and dedicated more than 20 years to supporting and guiding others through life’s challenges.
Amy’s work was not just a career—it was a calling. For over three decades, she touched countless lives through her empathy, wisdom, and steady presence. A beloved part of her practice was her Jack Russell Terrier, Fancy, a certified therapy dog who worked alongside Amy for 15 years, bringing comfort and joy to many.
In 1994, Amy met Cindy Quincy at Excelsior Youth Center, beginning a relationship that would grow into a lasting partnership. After reconnecting in September 2001, their bond deepened, and they were married on September 14, 2008. Together, they built a loving home filled with warmth, laughter, and the companionship of their cherished four-legged family members, Bo and Fancy.
Amy found joy in life’s simple and vibrant moments. She loved live music and sports, and she brought enthusiasm and heart to everything she did. Those who knew her will remember her as deeply compassionate, quietly strong, and unwavering in her care for others.
Amy was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Couchman; her aunt, Virginia Cavett Rice; her father-in-law, Richard Quincy, Sr.; and her niece, Nicole Quincy.
