Barbara Jean “Barbie” Klatt (Monroe), age 91, passed away peacefully on September 19th, 2025. Born on May 3, 1934, in Denver Colorado Barbara lived a vibrant and fulfilling life marked by adventure, devotion to family, and a deep commitment to her community.
The youngest of six children born to Charles and Mildred Monroe, Barbara grew up surrounded by the love and energy of a large family. Her spirited nature and zest for life were evident from an early age and remained with her throughout her years. She was married to John Klatt, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter and service.
Barbara was known for her fun-loving personality and adventurous spirit. She had a passion for travel that took her to many places over the years. Whether exploring new destinations or enjoying the familiar comforts of home, she embraced every moment with enthusiasm. A devoted fan of football, Barbara held season tickets to the Denver Broncos for many years and rarely missed a game. Her love for dancing brought joy to those around her, as did her infectious smile and warm presence.
An avid bowler with a competitive edge, Barbara was both intense and skilled on the lanes. Her talents extended beyond the alley-she was also an accomplished seamstress whole handiwork reflected her creativity and attention to detail.
Barbara’s dedication to helping others was evident in her volunteer work. Alongside her husband John, she served as a volunteer EMT for the District 50 Rescue unit. Later in life, she continued giving back by volunteering with the Westminster Police Department. Her contributions left a lasting impact on those she served and worked alongside.
Family was at the heart of everything Barbara did. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Debra (David), Karen (Dan), Rondi (Vaughn), and Ken. Grandchildren: Jamie (Rodney), Layne (Sarah), Nic (Cara),Jeffrey (Angela), Jason (Candace), Kevin (Stephanie), Stephanie, Kelli (James), Chad (Madisyn), Becky and Lindsay. Great-Grandchildren; Jaycie, John, Jordynn, Jake, Nowell, Emily, Lincoln, Mackenzie, Renny, Ethan, Evan and Emma, Kaylee, Macie, Crew and Colter.
She held close in memory those who passed before her; her beloved husband John Klatt, his parents John Sr. and Mae Klatt; siblings Betty, Lavola, Gloria; parents Charles and Mildred Monroe; sisters June and Charlette and three younger brothers who passed at an early age.
For most of Barbara's life, she lived each day with purpose and joy. She deeply missed John over the past thirteen years as well as all the family members who preceded her in death. Her presence was an anchor within the family-a source of strength during hard times and celebration during joyful ones.
Barbara Jean Klatt leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, resilience-and countless cherished memories that will live on through those who knew her best. May her memory bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.
