
He was born in Gilman, Colorado on February 21, 1932, and attended school in Colorado and New Mexico.
He worked primarily as a farmworker and laborer in many parts of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.
He is remembered as a kind loving man, who went out of his way to help others in need by providing money, food, lodging and most important friendship, As a final act of kindness he was a donor.
He had a passion for his pets, he buried at least three pets at the Pet Cemetery in Commerce City, and is survived by his last pet and companion, "Pants", who is being cared for by an arrangement made by his good friend Jack Sullivan. His niece, Betty Salazar, recalled that when one of his cats, Hera, was buried, Betty gave the eulogy recalling the loyalty and companionship provided by the cat.
He will be buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery next to his long time loving companion Michelle Bearing. He is survived by his brother Sam Espinoza, and numerous nephews and nieces. Those closest to Billy, are Eddie Vigil, Zeke Chacon, Casper Chavez, Billy Joe Chavez, Betty Salazar, and Beverly Griego.
Funeral arrangements are at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church 2645 E. 48th Ave. Denver, Co 80216 on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 .
