Cecilio Valdivieso Martinez, age 96 passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022. Cecilio was born October 28, 1925 in Dawson, New Mexico to Bernave Valdivieso and Cecilio Martinez. During his young life he came to Denver, Colorado and began working as a meat packer. He heard the call of duty and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served from 1951-1952. Cecilio met the beautiful Frances Martinez, and married her in Denver.
Cecilio is survived by his daughter, Patsy Autry (Gary); his son, Cecil Martinez; and his daughter, Yvonne Lewis. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Cecilio was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Martinez; his father, Cecilio Martinez and his mother, Bernave Valdivieso Martinez.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11AM at Lakewood United Methodist Church, located at 1390 Brentwood St, Lakewood, 80214. Cecilio will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan with his wife, Frances, also on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 1PM.
