

Charles Seese was born in Ringwood, Oklahoma on December 15, 1919 to Charles E. Seese, Sr. and Lucy Boaz Seese. A younger brother, Bob, predeceased him in February, 2017. A cousin Eva Ruth Boaz Bryant was raised as a sister with the family and they were very close until her death in 1987.
Charlie graduated from Fairview High School in 1937 then attended one year of college at Eastern New Mexico State University in Portales, New Mexico. While there he played as a "ringer" in his Uncle Roy's high school marching band (Clovis High School).
He married Luella (Lou) V. Hamernik on December 28, 1940 and they had three children: Sharon, John, and Barbara. Lou died on February 19, 2005.
Charlie served in the Army in World War II as a Technician 5th Grade, Medical Aidman with the 138th Engineering Combat Battalion in the European Theater from April 1944 through March 1946.
After the war he worked as a Land Data Consultant in the oil industry in Oklahoma, Wyoming, and Colorado for about 32 years for both Phillips Petroleum Company and Amoco Production Company. He retired from Amoco on August 1, 1980 and moved from Denver to Battlement Mesa in 2002, then to Phoenix, Arizona in 2010.
Charles was always active in his church, serving as both a deacon and an elder as well as on the Finance Committee. During his 30+ years at Green Mountain Presbyterian Church he was the lead usher for over 15 years and rarely missed a Men’s Breakfast event.
Charles also pursued some travel around the U.S. He played a little golf and thoroughly enjoyed sports on TV, especially University of Oklahoma Sooner football! He was very fond of dogs. He is pictured here with his grandson’s dog Dori.
