7/2/1947 - 1/9/2023
Danny, 75, passed away surrounded by his family at Medical Center of Aurora Hospital after a short illness.
Danny was born in Denver, Colorado to John and Elsie Mulcahy. He was the second oldest child of 10 kids. Dan attended Saint Joseph and Our Lady of Lourdes grade schools. He graduated from South High School in 1965. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and a minor in Theatre from Metropolitan State College.
Dan wrote, directed and acted in several plays in various Denver Theaters. Dan worked for King Soopers for close to 40 years, mostly as a produce manager. Dan was proud of his work ethic, telling us that he never had a day of absence. After retiring from Kings, Dan started Serendipity Computers. Whatever you needed with computers Dan could do it such as network setup, hardware installation, employee training, computer repair and database management.
While at King Soopers (Kings), Dan met his wife Rosie Townsell. They married April 28, 1979. Together, they had two boys - Sean (1979) and Denis (1982). Dan and Rosie bought a house near Platte Park, and after a few years, they bought a home in Englewood where they raised the boys. Dan broke his hip in 2010 and moved to Canterbury Gardens retirement community in Aurora.
From a young age, Dan was an above average athlete. He was good at whatever sport he tried. He was especially gifted at baseball and softball. Teams that Dan managed won 3 Denver softball league championships and placed 3rd at the State championship.
Dan was as honest a man you would ever know, he worked hard his whole life and made friends easily wherever he went! His humor and wit made him fun to chat with. Recently, his two lady neighbors commented how shy Dan was and how he was their favorite neighbor because of his kind nature.
Dan is loved and will be missed by all of his family.
Dan is survived by his 2 sons Sean and Denis, 3 grandchildren Cain (2002), Brianna (born 2007) and Emma Rose (2010) and his former wife, Rosie.
