

David Vernon Carballeira, of Evergreen, passed away on November 17th. Dave was born in 1950 in Bogota, Columbia, and raised in Flushing, Queens, New York. After high school, he moved to the Rocky Mountains to attend DU. In Colorado, Dave found his true home, many lifelong friends, and the love of his life. Dave and Deborah were married in the Spring of ‘73. They had two children, Liza and Adam, and raised them in Evergreen. David loved to travel and explore: beaches, cultures, oceans, foods, and people of all kinds. He ran a construction company building people’s dreams, and was a driving force of goodwill and charity at the Evergreen Elks. Dave Carballeira was a generous, fun-loving man, remembered for big hellos and hugs, good jokes and conversation, and a laugh you could hear from a mile away.
David was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edith and Robert Carballeira, and his older brother, Bobby. His spirit lives on through hundreds of friends, his brother Steven, his two sisters Rosemary and Melany, his wife Deborah and their two children, Liza and Adam, and six grandchildren (Andrew, Mason, Bailey, Talon, Eliot, and Lucas), aged seventeen to seven.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Saturday, November 28th at 1 PM, reception to follow. Evergreen Elks Lodge, 27972 Iris Drive, Evergreen. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charitable organization Evergreen Elks Lodge PO Box 298, Evergreen, CO, 80437.
