Eddie was born on January 2, 1936, in Piney View West Virginia and lived there until he graduated from high school. His father was a coal miner, and Eddie knew he didn't want to work in the coal mines for a living, so he came to Denver, Colorado to work in construction with his Uncle Willard. Eddie fell in love with the cute girl (Naomi Johnson) next to his job site who offered him a Pepsi! They married on June 17, 1955, and were happily married for 54 years until Naomi's untimely death due to cancer on January 24, 2009.
Eddie and Naomi had 2 children--a son Kelley (Pam) and a daughter Cherie. They also had 2 granddaughters Amber (Jim) and Aimee (Tom) and 4 great grandchildren (Daniel, Molly, Luke and Max).
Eddie worked as a licensed construction contractor and had such a solid reputation with repeat customers that he never had contracts--his word and handshake was the contract. He worked hard, supported and loved his family, and always supported others in need with generous donations. He was a caregiver to his core. Later in life, Eddie learned to play the acoustic guitar and even wrote some original songs (country of course!)
Eddie never attended funerals so we didn't think it would be fair to have him attend his own funeral! In lieu of flowers (which he detested!) please give a donation in Eddie's name to your favorite charity.
