November 12, 1932 – September 6, 2025
Elvira Medina, age 92, of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Born on November 12, 1932, in Durango, Mexico, Elvira lived a long and beautiful life marked by deep faith, boundless generosity, and unwavering love for her family.
She is survived by her devoted daughters: Marie, Margie, and Yolanda Medina; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a cherished great-great-granddaughter. Elvira also leaves behind two loving sisters, along with many nieces and nephews who adored her dearly.
Elvira is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo Medina; daughters Florence and Diana; her son John; and her precious grandson, Joey. Though they are gone, their memories live on in the hearts of those who remain.
Known for her incredible warmth and compassion, Elvira had the biggest heart. She never stopped asking about her family, always praying for them, and encouraging kindness in every form. A woman of deep faith, she believed that the Lord was always watching and reminded her children to “déjalo”—to let things go—and to forgive. To her, forgiveness was the most important virtue.
Elvira was also lovingly remembered for her signature “lipstick”—she never left home without it. She carried herself with grace and pride, teaching by example the values of strength, generosity, and love.
Her life was a gift to all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives of her family and loved ones.
A private family service will be held to honor her life.
A rosary for Elvira will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 10:30 AM. A mass of christian burial at 11:00 AM. With a reception following mass all at St. Cajetan Catholic Church, 299 S. Raleigh Street, Denver, CO 80219.
