Faye was born in Denver on September 14, 1932. She attended Emmaus Lutheran School for grades 1 through 8 and sang in the girls' choir. Faye worked as a secretary and office manager at Farmer's Insurance after graduating from West High School in 1950. She married Kenny Milne on August 20, 1952. Kenny owned Sheridan Motors and Faye served as the bookkeeper, while raising four children.
Kenny and Faye loved adventure. They visited all 50 states and travelled to Europe, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica and Grand Cayman. They climbed five 14'ers and hiked the Grand Canyon from rim to rim for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. They used Kenny's yellow raft to float many rivers and fish many lakes, often with great stories to tell afterwards. In recent years, they took an annual trip to Hawaii, drove to British Columbia to visit their daughter and spent two weeks each summer at the Soward Ranch near Creede, Colorado.
Faye was a very creative and talented woman. She loved to sew, quilt, scrapbook, garden, cook and bake. She truly enjoyed her beautiful garden and rose bushes. She loved to read and always had a book or her bible in hand. She was a truly loving, sweet and gentle person, with a beautiful smile. She never cursed, was kind and patient.
Faye believed that her family was her greatest accomplishment. She conducted extensive research on both her own family history and Kenny's. She compiled genealogical records in the days before the internet by visiting libraries and other information repositories. She planned three family reunions and always made a point to keep in touch with her cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family via phone calls, cards and visits. She relished time spent with her grandchildren. Kenny and Faye provided daycare for three of their grandchildren, which really was an adventure camp for the kids; with daily trips to the park, a museum, or some other fun activity.
Faye remained a member of Emmaus until its closing. She was the President of the Emmaus Ladies' Guild and was the treasurer for the Emmaus Quilters. She spent many hours volunteering at her church. At the time of her passing, Faye was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Faye is survived by her brother Calvin Kennedy of Wheat Ridge, twin sister Phyllis Biltz of Denver, her daughter Renee' Mackenzie of Vernon, British Columbia, her son Richard Milne of Lewis, Colorado and her daughter Wendy (Greg) Naugle of Lakewood. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Crystal Milne of Vernon, B.C., David, Trevor and Casandra Naugle of Lakewood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny and her son David Milne.
