Frances Irene Kaloust (Durgin) passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on May 2nd, 2023 in Arvada, Colorado in The Gardens on Quail Assisted Living where she spent the last two months of her life. Until then, she lived independently.
She was born on February 22, 1922 to Elmer and Catherine Durgin in Lynn, Massachusetts. Frances was the oldest of four children, who all preceded her in death.
She met her husband, Armond H. Kaloust during their high school graduation as they were partners in the ceremony. He passed away in 2002.
They were married for 61 years and had five children, Wayne and wife Cynthia, Donna and husband Gene, Carol and husband Dennie (both deceased) Ronnie and wife Mary Jo, Vaughn and wife Frances; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
After leaving Massachusetts, they moved to southern California where they lived until retirement. They moved to Sedona, Arizona where they lived for 21 years and then moved to Colorado to be close to family.
Frances was a homemaker and loved her family, enjoying traveling, and was an avid reader. She loved knitting, sewing and any kind of crafts.
She will be buried in Huntington Beach, California on Thursday, May 11th, 2023 at Good Shepherd Cemetery with her husband and requested a graveside service only. She was a no-frills kind of gal and her family is honoring that wish.
She will be missed by many and was the last of her era on both sides of the family. She had a sharp mind and was a great resource for anyone who wanted to know any family history.
She lived a long and full life!
