

Frank Stubert was born in Ellis, Kansas on July 31, 1922. He was one of Ludvina (Flax) and John Stubert’s fourteen children. He was raised in Longmont and Denver, Colorado. He was a World War II Veteran who served from October 24, 1942-December 5, 1945. He married Helen Lee Forbes on January 19, 1946. When she passed away on March 18, 2008 they had been married for 62 years. He had two children, Frank DeWayne (died on November 4, 1975) and Helen Denise and when he was in he seventies he adopted his great-grandson Lucas Neal. He had seven grandchildren, Jessica, Vanessa, Michelle, Curtis, Kimberly, Keith, and Jeremy. He had nine great-grand children. He worked as a butcher at a grocery store until he was able to purchased his own store. He owned Sureway Grocery for ten years. He retired from Colorado General Hospital, were he worked as a water specialist in the Maintenance Department. He also worked as a part-time butcher (Ace Grocery) while working at Colorado General. He had an 8th grade education. He was excited when he received his GED when he was in his seventies. He loved breeding and racing greyhounds, going to horse shows with his daughter and grand-daughter, taking care of Jessica, Vanessa, and Lucas when he retired, gardening, and even loved teaching his grand-daughters how to drive. Frank was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. He passed away on Friday morning, April 12, 2013 in Lakewood, Colorado. He will always be in our hearts.
