

He was born in Springfield, Missouri on September 8, 1937. Garry was drafted into the United States Army in December of 1960 and was honorably discharged in December of 1962.
Garry was married to Louise Kay Shafer on June 27, 1964.
He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Protecto Wrap, Waterton Sand & Clay, Lowry’s Beef Jerky and Clear Creek Water Treatment Plant. Garry was a member of the American Legion and the YMCA and had a passion for yard work and going to the ARC Thrift Store.
Garry is preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Ray E. Lane and Phillip L. Shafer, US Navy. He is survived by his wife, Louise; son, Terry (Wendy) Hodges & daughter, Theresa (Rich) Kamphaus; Granddaughters, Ashley, Sarah and Brooke; unborn first grandson, Sylvester James T. Hodges- September 2015; sister, Lola Jean Lane; brother, Greg Hodges. Garry had a special place in his heart for those who served in the United States Armed Forces, including his niece, Petty Officer First Class, soon to be Ensign, Michal Shafer, US Navy Seebee and nephew, Sgt.Paul Hodges, US Army Infantry, and survived by numerous other nieces and nephews which he adored and loved.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, May 18th, 2015, viewing at 10:00AM at Advantage Runyan Stevenson Chapel, 6425 West Alameda Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80226. Committal Service 12:15PM, staging area “C”, Monday, May 18th, 2015 at Fort Logan National Cemetery
