

On Friday, May 7th, 2021, George I. Wagner Jr. passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 87. He was born in Lakewood, CO. on March 31, 1934 to George Sr. and Jennette Wagner. He worked as a plumber and later purchased Clayton Plumbing CO. which he ran for 45 years. George was respected by many for his honest business practices and ability to complete a job for a price agreed upon with a handshake. He loved being outdoors, working in his garden, backpacking, spending time with his grandchildren, and was a lifetime member of the Golden Elks where he and Merna acquired the love of western dancing. George graduated from Mountaire High School in 1952 where he met his wife of 67 years, Merna Marie Wagner, who preceded him in death on April 22, 2020. Also, preceding him was his brother, Richard Wagner, and his sister, Barbara Adamson, both from Lakewood, CO. He was survived by his brother Larry Wagner, sister Carol Beane, sons; Scott (Catherine), Michael (Mary), Bradley (former wife Gloria), and Raymond (Holly), grandchildren; Michael, Andrew, Julie, Courtney, Keaton, Alex, and Tony, great grandchildren Landon and Hudson, and numerous nieces and nephews. George is to be buried at Olinger Mount Lindo Cemetery in Morrison, CO with immediate family in attendance. A memorial service will be held at the Elks Lodge in Golden, CO. on May 21 at 3pm.
