Irene D. Jones was born on February 24, 1932 in Boise, Idaho. Irene graduated from high school in Butte Montana and made her way over to MSU in Bozeman where she graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Microbiology. She met her husband and they married in 1953 and moved to Denver for a short time where they owned a candy store. The small family moved to Salt Lake City where Irene was graced with a son, Mart. Life continued to take her around the United States, and she soon found themselves in Dallas, Texas where she was graced with another son, Bruce.
Irene and family returned to the Denver/Lakewood area where she began attending Faith Bible Chapel, known as Faith Church, in 1973. She loved bible study and made many friends. She was naturally social and had a knack for keeping long time friendships, many of those friends visited her one to two time a week during her illness.
Irene also loved the arts, constantly taking the opportunity to go to plays, musicals and the ballet. She enjoyed buying flowers and arranging them, but most of all, she really loved the art of good cheese and fine food. She had a sense of style that was amazing, and could pull any outift off.
Irene passed away on December 11, 2023 at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and two nephews. She is survived by her sons, Mart and Bruce (Cindy); grandchildren, Philip, Larissa, Anna, Sherri and Lisa; 7 great grandchildren, 1 nephew, 4 nieces and a host of extended family and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at 1PM at Faith Church in Arvada.
