He was born on December 9, 1947, in Hettinger, North Dakota, and grew up in Miles City, Montana.
Jerome owned and operated a commercial collection and credit business for most of his life. He was actively involved in with Mullen High School, served as a referee for the Colorado Youth Soccer Association, and was a dedicated woodworker.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Plummer, his father, Mick Walby, his brothers Mike Walby, and sisters, Linda Walby and Cheryl Knowles. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Walby; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Melissa Walby; and his grandchildren, Madeline and Jackson Walby. He is also survived by his sisters, Cindy and Sheila Walby.
