He was born in Costilla, New Mexico on February 22, 1938 to Jake and Eufelia Romero.
He married Connie (Garcia) Romero on December 26, 1970.
Joe worked at Loretta Heights, and later Denver University which he retired from.
Joe had a love for boxing and enjoyed watching the matches.
He is survived by his daughter Juanita (Adam) Romero; his Grandchildren Roy Solano, and Valencia Lucero; his brothers Richard Romero, Ross Romero, Eddie Romero, and Gasper Romero; and a sister Beatrice Davis.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Advantage Runyan Stevenson Trevino Mortuary, located at 6425 W. Alameda Ave. Lakewood, Colorado 80226.
A reception will follow after the services at the St. Cajetan's Catholic Church, located at 299 S Raleigh St, Denver, CO 80219.
