John C. Blackwell long-time Denver resident passed peacefully on January 2, 2019. Born in McGregor, Iowa, on January 24, 1929 to John and Salome (Kreutter) Blackwell and survived by three siblings: Dorothy Dulon (Stillwater, MN), Shirley Greeder (Mahtomedi, MN) and Carl Blackwell (Minneapolis, MN). John enjoyed reading his bible and playing the organ at Grace Memorial Church. He also served as Chaplain Assistant in the military at Camp Yokohama Japan. John will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver. A private service is planned. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Paul Health Center and Suncrest Hospice.
