Heaven welcomed a cherished angel into its embrace on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Linda (Hutson) Grewell, aged 80, departed this world leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and love that touched countless lives. Her departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Linda was born on December 21, 1943, to Troy Hilton Hutson and Doris Myrene (Kelly) Hutson. On September 26, 1964, she entered into a loving union with Garrison Kent Grewell, her devoted husband of 59 years. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love and compassion.
A dedicated homemaker, Linda extended her care beyond her own family, providing a nurturing environment for many children as she babysat and assisted in raising them while their parents worked. Later in her career, she served as a retired Elementary School Special Education Paraprofessional at Woodglen Elementary in Thornton, CO, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless students.
Linda was an integral part of the community, serving as a member of the Tapestry Ensemble and actively participating in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church and choir for over 50 years. Her love for music, especially vocal performances, brought her immense joy. She found delight in the melodies of artists like Paul Simon, Cher, Bette Midler, ABBA, Neil Diamond, Reba McEntire, and the local group FACE. Linda cherished attending musicals and concerts, always supporting her children and grandchildren in their sports activities and musical endeavors.
Linda's spirit lives on in the hearts of her beloved family: her husband Gary Grewell; children Kelly Carlander (Mike), Lynette Speth (David), Angie LaCoste (Ron), and Kent Grewell (Charlotte); grandchildren Brandon Stewart, Brian Grewell, Kyla Carlander, Kelsay Vogt, Alex Bentley, Alyssa Metcalf, and Troy Speth; great-grandchildren Colton and Caden Stewart, Chance Grewell, Harvey Vogt, Miley and Henry Metcalf; and siblings Debbie Snider and Mark Hutson.
A funeral mass for Linda will be held on Tuesday, February 27th, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Northglenn at 10:30 AM, followed by a reception at the church from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at 3:00 PM at Ft Logan Cemetery.
