It is with great love and cherished memories that we celebrate the life of Mary Kay Carmody, the eldest of seven children, born to Lawrence William and Delia (O'Byrne) Carmody. Mary Kay was a devoted sister, aunt, caregiver, and friend who touched countless lives with her kindness, unwavering faith, and compassionate heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Shannon Nicole, her parents, her brother, Rev. Bill Carmody, and her sister, Josephine Carmody. She is survived by her siblings: Frank (Sue) Carmody, Patrick (Jenny) Carmody, Edward Carmody, and Teresa Carmody. She also leaves behind her treasured nieces: Kelly Carmody, Kerry (John) Ballard, Georgia Carmody, Olivia Carmody, Mya Carmody, and Ariana Carmody.
After the passing of her daughter, Mary Kay found purpose in caregiving, dedicating 10 years as a loving nanny to the Brugmann family and 17 years to the Lonnemann family. She became a cherished member of their lives, shaping young hearts with warmth, patience, and guidance.
Her calling to serve extended beyond these families as she became a Visiting Angel, providing care and comfort to those in need. Through every act of kindness, Mary Kay embodied the values of her deep Catholic faith. She faithfully attended Mass, served as a catechist, and carried the Holy Eucharist to the sick and homebound, ensuring that all could find peace in God’s grace.
Mary Kay’s legacy is one of love, service, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who were blessed to know her.
