Morris enlisted in the Army Air Corp at age 17, serving honorably for 30 years. He was one of the pioneers who led us to the United States Air Force as we know it today. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1973, having served during three wars: World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Morris is predeceased by his parents; his wife of nearly 30 years, Mary (Hughes); a sister, Martha and brother, Rodger. He is survived by his beloved nieces, Mary Owenby of Colorado and Donna Dillon of Idaho; and great nephews, Thomas Owenby of Janesville, Wisconsin and Jimmy Owenby of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and their families.
Morris enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also had a passion for reading, with his favorites being the Louis L’Amour western novels. Other interests included bingo, playing cards and watching sports. Morris knew how to live life and made the most out of every moment. He was a caring gentleman who will be dearly missed.
The family of Morris would like to thank his special caregivers, Rebecca Pack and Caitlin Golden, as well as Pikes Peak Hospice for their excellent care.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.advantagerunyan-stevenson.com for the Godwin family.
