Robert Alan Clegg

Robert Alan Clegg (affectionately known as Rob, Bob, Dad, Gramps, and Grandpa), 79, of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his entire family, on Thursday, February 19, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with blood cancer (MDS) and end-stage liver failure.

Robert was born on Tuesday, July 23, 1946, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Robert G. and Shirley L. Clegg. He spent his early years in Olathe, Kansas, where he lived until 1970 before making Denver his lifelong home.

He married Diana Rae on January 19, 1965. Together they had two daughters, Kimberly and Tisha.

Robert devoted 25 years of his career to Montgomery Wards, beginning as a front-end technician and working his way into management through hard work and determination. Later, he continued his commitment to service in environmental services at North Suburban Hospital, where he eventually retired.

He found his greatest joy outdoors. Whether fishing, tending to his garden, or simply soaking up the sun, Robert was happiest outside. He could often be found tinkering for hours in the garage or carefully nurturing his plants. He loved his grandchildren deeply and took pride in being “Gramps” and “Grandpa.” He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved pets.

Robert will be remembered not only for his time spent outdoors and with family, but for his quick wit and hilarious one-liners that could light up a room. He always knew how to make those around him laugh, and those memories will continue to bring smiles to the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Rae; his daughters, Kimberly and Tisha (Bonifacio); his grandchildren, Michael, Leah (Dom), and Alyssa; his brother, David Clegg (Joi); and his extended family who will forever treasure his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert G. and Shirley L. Clegg, and his brother, Alan.

He will be deeply missed.
