Roger Alan Olds, born November 16, 1951 in Albuquerque NM, passed away at the age of 68 the evening of Saturday June 20, 2020 of natural causes. He began his eternal journey at his home in Denver CO with family by his side. Roger was born to Leonard Elmo Olds and Grace Earlene Hoagland Olds, the second of 12 children. His places of residence included his birth state of New Mexico; Grand Island and Niagara Falls, New York; Columbus, Ohio; and Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1969 at the age of 18. He attended Rick’s College (now BYU Idaho) before serving a 2-year mission in California for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After his mission he received his BA in mathematics in 1976 from Brigham Young University in Provo Utah. After finishing his degree, he began teaching, followed by many years working for Colorado Compensation Insurance Authority, later named Pinnacle Insurance.

Throughout his busy life, family and commitment to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints remained his top priorities. Upon his retirement he chose to devote his time to volunteer work and was an active associate of LegalShield, sat on many boards for various organizations, enjoyed participating in the local English and Scottish Country Dance groups, and was an enthusiastic member of the State Executive Committee of the Constitution Party, also serving as National Committeeman. He was always cheerful, kind, and willing to go out of his way to serve others. His faith never wavered and his unmatched humor carried him through until the end. He is survived by his two daughters; Rachel Ruth (Danny Arguello) and Lisa Kristine (Matthew Holmes); grandchildren Lorenzo, Elizabeth, Alan Joseph (AJ), Jocelyn; and his stepson Matthew Perez. He will be greatly missed by his family, many friends, and community members who loved and respected him.

I remember Roger being always a gentleman in our singles group.
He was a sincere and helpful person to whomever needed him.
Yes! He had quite a sense of humor and an uplifting personality.
He was also very informed in ways of legal advice and was helpful to many in that area.
There’s a saying that “only the good die young”. That is certainly the truth in his case.
I think Heavenly Father needed Roger to go home to him so he can continue his journey of service beyond the veil.
To his family and loved ones I am so sorry for your loss !! We were all better for having crossed paths with this gentle soul.
Dear Roger, May you Rest In Peace and now receive eternal happiness with our Lord and The Father.
All my love and respect , Ling-Na

Roger was a gentle giant with a big heart and a calming sense of humor. He was the kind of friend who could keep you laughing and feel better about hard situations. He helped my kids and I (as well as another of his friends - at a different time) move across country. My dad was bewildered as to why anyone would do that. Roger did it because he could. He saw a need and acted on it. He really liked Roger and felt good in his presence. They have no doubt seen each other now, as my dad left this world in October 2019. Roger was as Christlike as they come. I remember seeing heaven in his eyes, a confirmation that he was someone I could trust. Thoughts of him brings a smile to my face. There was no one like him. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

We remember when it was time to vote that we would see Mr.Olds at the check-in table. He always welcomed us we a big smile and asked if there was anything he could help us with. If we ran into him at the grocery store he would take time to say hello and stop to chat. We send your family our heartfelt condolences. We were blessed to have known your father.
