Roy served as a proud veteran, serving in the Air Force as a mechanic, which he also did in civilian life. Roy was a collector of coins, knives, and keychains. He was also an avid reader of Western novels. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Chuck Wagon Diner and local Walmart and was always quick with a joke. One of Roy's favorite pastimes was taking his grandsons fishing. Roy also enjoyed his time traveling the world in the military, with a special love for the state of Alaska. Roy portrayed a quiet strength, was selfless, while being exceptionally charming and very handsome, according to his grandson.
Roy was proceeded in death by his parents Roy, Sr. and Joy Stielow, as well as his wife Barbara and stepsons Albert, Jr. and Gordy. He is survived by his family Sherrie, April, Tammy, Jay, and Isaiah as well as many friends and additional family.
Family and friends are encouraged to attend Roy’s funeral at Fort Logan National Cemetary in Denver, CO at 11:15am on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, followed by lunch at Golden Corral in Sheridan, CO.
