February 18, 1948- July 23, 2025
Sandy Farabaugh, 77, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully at Advent Porter Hospice knowing that she was precious to family and friends.
Sandy was born on February 18, 1948, in Pueblo, Colorado to Gilbert A. Farabaugh, Jr. and Dorothy Louise “Helen” Yates Farabaugh. She was their first-born child and the first-born grandchild on both sides of the family.
Sandy enjoyed being the only child for 5 years until her sisters, Ruth, born in 1953, and Gayle, born in 1958 came along. Sandy quickly excelled as an older sister and usually put up with their teasing and tormenting.
Sandy graduated from Denver West High School in 1966 before her successful career in Medical Records at Denver’s Westside Health Center. She received many awards and accolades for her work there. She retired after 33 years of service to the City and County of Denver.
Sandy spent the first years of her retirement traveling with her parents, as well as with Gayle, who was 10 years younger.
She enjoyed crafting, particularly crocheting and beading, playing board games, solving puzzles, watching “Murder She Wrote’ and listening to her beloved Dean Martin. She also spent much of her retirement doting on her nephews and nieces.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Hartvigson (Lowell) and Gayle Gleaton (Douglas), who she lovingly called “The Brats” or “The Rats.” She is also survived by her adored nephews and nieces- Joshua Hartvigson, Katie Wooley (Kevin), Chad Gleaton (Erin), Talon Gleaton (Casey), Meghan Hartvigson-McIntyre (Kellen) and Garrett Gleaton (Veronica). Sandy was delighted when her great- nieces and great-nephews came along- Brian Wooley (Calysta), Mackenzie Wooley, Alex McIntyre, Rory McIntyre, Ellarie Gleaton, Max Gleaton, Bea Gleaton, Blake Gleaton, Juniper Gleaton, and the news of a great-niece who is expected to join the family in January 2026. Sandy also enjoyed and loved her cousins and extended family and friends.
Special thanks to the caregivers at Rose of Sharon- Yukon who became her second family over the last 4 years, as well as the caring staff at Advent Porter Hospice who helped Sandy transition with caring comfort and respect.
