Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to C. Dewey and Arta M. Hale, Sally was a much anticipated joy to her parents.
After graduating from East High School she attended BYU where she met and married Robert "Bob" Bohm in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 9,1953. She was a great comfort and strength to her husband throughout his life. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Some of Sally's favorite things were family and friends, quilting and visiting with people. No one was ever a stranger to her. She loved her job at the temple and the wonderful people she worked with and she especially loved going to lunch with her dear friends.
Sally is survived by her 5 children, Robin (Bruce DeGering), Melanie (Greg Mathews), Heidi (Michael Smith), Matthew (Lisa Blevins) and Christian. She has 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces who were dear to her. She is also survived by her brother, John Hale and his wife Janna.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude for all of you who so unselfishly served and cared for Sally these past several months and to those who sent letters, cards and gifts; know that those buoyed her up and soothed her when nothing else could. We would like to say a special thank you to the Palliative Care team for their thoughtfulness and care of Sally during this time, especially Rose, her devoted nurse.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Perpetual Education Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because she would be pleased to know that in a small way she was continuing to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
