Sofie L. Manchego

Sofie LaForet Manchego, born December 27, 1927 in Questa, New Mexico, died peacefully at home on Monday April 24, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E., whom she married December 11, 1944. She was also preceded in death by her daughters Marilyn and Elgerine, sons Joe M. and Ronald J. Manchego, brothers Felix and Alonzo LaFore, and granddaughter Jennifer Manchego, along with many other family members and friends. Left behind to cherish her memories are her sons Benjamin (Toni), Kenneth and Donald Manchego, daughter Alicia Manchego, daughter in-laws Linda and Michelle Manchego, her grandchildren Marilyn, Tina, Christa, Rochelle, Jolina, Dana, Paul, Joe Mark, Benjamin Jr., Sarah, Amber, Tonimarie, Danny Joe, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, foster children, extended family and friends. She left countless lasting memories to all that were blessed to know her.

Services will be held at St. Cajetan’s Church, 299 S. Raleigh St., on Monday May 1, 2017 with a rosary and funeral mass at 10:00am. A procession will follow the church services to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 for graveside services.
