

Thomas Roger Taylor, died peacefully in Louisville, CO on December 17, 2020. He was 85. Thomas was born on September 6, 1935 in Berwick, PA to Lee Roy and Flavia Taylor. Tom was living at Balfour in Louisville, CO.
As a child Tom moved frequently, living in many places in Pennsylvania, New York and eventually North Carolina. Tom attended Duke University and graduated in 1959 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He then moved to California for work (Honeywell) and met his wife Rozene Pellino (1936-2018), a schoolteacher, and they were married on July 2, 1960. They moved around California for the next 5 years, living in San Jose, Lakewood and Orange County. Tom then took a job in Illinois with Ampex and the family moved to Hoffman Estates. He began working for Storage Technology Corporation (STC) as a Marketing Representative (employee #31 and the first marketing representative) in 1969. He then relocated his family to Boulder, CO in 1971. Tom helped grow the start-up over 15 years while growing his career at STC. He then left and worked for other start-ups in CA and Colorado such as Fujitsu and Storage Systems Marketing. He ended his career at IBM as a consultant. He was also an adjunct professor at CU’s Graduate School of Business.
Tom loved sports and became an avid University of Colorado fan and season ticket holder. He also loved his alma matter, Duke, and was an active alumni and supporter. Tom enjoyed traveling and took his family on many trips, enjoying driving around the US with his wife and four children. He also enjoyed skiing and tennis, spending many hours at the Devil’s Thumb tennis courts.
Tom is survived by his children : Julie (Kevin) Wright, Greg (Denise) Taylor, Jennifer (Craig) Hagan and Jill (Jon) Coln. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren (ranging in age from 6 to 35 years); James, Jacob, Kelsey, Courtney, Cori, Jack, Taylor and Emerson, and his two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Colette.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honour may go to the Pratt School of Engineering, Duke University or Sacred Heart of Mary, Boulder, CO.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
