Tommy Gerald Graves

Tommy was born on June 7, 1940, in Denver, Colorado, to Horace Greeley Graves and Dearis Ownsby Graves. He grew up in the Denver area with his sisters, Jeanette Wilson and Marlene Benjamin, and graduated from Sheridan Union High School with the Class of 1959.

On August 16, 1959, Tommy married the love of his life, Geraldine Ballinger, in Denver. Together they built a marriage that spanned nearly 67 years, creating a home grounded in faith, love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family. They lived in Denver before making Lakewood their home, where they raised their children and welcomed generations of grandchildren.

More than any accomplishment, Tommy treasured his family. He delighted in watching it grow through children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His greatest legacy is the love, values, and example he leaves behind.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Geraldine Graves; his children, Randal Graves (wife Teri), Gregory Graves (wife Terry), and Pamela Borkovec; his sister, Jeanette Wilson; grandchildren Sean, Seth, Michael, Breeze, Brooke, Cory, Kayla, Sloan, and Kristen; great-grandchildren Maggie, Summer, Olivia, Jaden, Bella, Lily, Dane, Jace, Gage, Kennedy, Jackson, McKinna, McKayla, Ranie, Greysen, Malaky, Kyreece, Kyland, and Lucan; great-great-grandchildren Madalyn and Halle; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Greeley Graves and Dearis Ownsby Graves; his sister, Marlene Benjamin; his brother-in-law, Carson "Chuck" Wilson; and his faithful companion, Pepper.

Tommy enjoyed a distinguished career with the City and County of Denver, serving as Manager of Maintenance Operations for Denver's Performance and Sports Complexes. He earned the respect of coworkers and friends alike through his integrity, leadership, dependability, and exceptional work ethic.

Outside of work, Tommy found joy in the outdoors and the beauty of Colorado. He loved golfing, fishing, four-wheeling, exploring ghost towns, camping, and spending time at the family cabin. His yard and gardens reflected the same pride and attention to detail he brought to every part of his life. He was an avid reader whose evenings often included watching sports, Christian programming, Biblical exploration and keeping informed about Israel and world events.

He was known for his strength of character, wit, generous spirit, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Family and friends will remember his, good-natured banter, steady wisdom, and the calm confidence he brought to every situation.
