Alexander Rae

He was born on August 22, 1929 in Maryculter, Scotland. He was the son of the late Alexander and Jessie Rae. Alexander came to the U.S. in 1957 settling in Kearny, NJ. He was a resident of Brick before moving to Lakewood . Alexander was the proprietor of Richardson & Rae Plumbing and Heating Company for many years. He was a proud Scot, and kept his family near and far close to his heart.

Alexander is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Mary; 3 children, Stuart Rae, Janet Decker and her husband Charles, and Susan Hyde and her husband James; 2 brothers, Frank and Eric Rae and 2 sisters, Margaret Simpson and Elizabeth Gauld; 6 grandchildren, Erin and Allison Rae, Jilyan and Alexander Decker, and Kevin and Danielle Hyde; and a brother-in-law, Robert Anderson. He was the brother of the late Ian Rae, Peter Rae, and Audrey Murray.

Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will be conducted privately at a later date in the Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ..
