Andrew Frank "Pappy" Neal, Sr., age 83, of Jackson, NJ, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Hospital in Lakewood, NJ. Andrew was born November 17, 1937 in Virginia. He was a former resident of Toms River, before moving to Jackson 25 years ago. Andrew was a lineman, most recently with Henkels & McCoy, Inc., and retired in 2001 after a 47 year career in the industry. In June of 2021, Local Union 351 extended to him the I.B.E.W. Service Award in recognition of his 65 years of union membership. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Kathy Neal; 2 sons, Frank Neal and his wife Sylvie of Farmingdale, NJ, and Frank Smith of Sanford, FL; 2 daughters, Pamela Flynn and her husband Matt of Washington Crossing, PA and Tracey Smith of Casselberry, FL; a grandchild, Richard Badali, Jr.; 3 sisters, Ellen Timmreck, Tommy Manley, Billy Sue Cusati, a brother, Marvin McNeil and several other extended family members and friends. Andrew was predeceased by his parents, Rita Mays Neal and Andrew Vance Neal; three siblings, Betty Potter, Max Muffley, and Martha Jewell; and his son-in-law Richard Badali, Sr. Relatives & friends received on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. His memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Cremation was private.
A repast will be held at the Our House Tavern in Farmingdale, NJ beginning at 3PM.
