

Born and raised in Lakewood, NJ, Anthony lived in Lakewood his entire life.
He served in the Army during W.W.II, and was a member of the 407th Anti-Aircraft Gun Battalion. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge. When he returned he worked as a carpenter for over 40 years retiring in 1986. He was a former Chief of Lakewood Fire Departments, Fire Company # 2, and was a volunteer Fireman for 39 years. He was a member of the Exempt Fireman’s Association for over 20 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Margaret of 65 years, his daughter Diana Weber and her husband Edward of Brick, his daughter Kathy Gillhaus and her husband Phil of Manchester, his son Gene of Largo, FL, 7 grandchildren, Michael, Donna, Shane, Becky, Megan, Lauren, Philip, and 5 great grandchildren, James, Shannon, Sarah, Erin, and Patrick.
Visitation will be held Friday September 23rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave; Lakewood, NJ 08701. A Funeral service will be held Saturday September 24th, 11:00am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River, NJ.
